Tonight I'm in a motel in downtown Bozeman, MT and it is fantastic (the town, not the room, though the room is plenty OK for the price and because I am fortuitously close to the office so I get free in-room Wi-Fi so I have this chance to update my website). I'm giving strong thought to staying here another night as Bozeman looks like a nice town to explore. The quest for Summer Snow can wait a day.
Today's travel took me through some of the most scenic areas I 've ever seen in my life. In Idaho I saw some Summer Snow in the distance, so I know it isn't a myth. Alas it was quite far away and at a much higher altitude. It was just a teaser. I want to touch it! Along today's route were the way nice Buffalo River in Idaho and the Madison and Gallatin rivers in Montana (see teasers below). Judging by the water temperatures, the elusive Summer Snow must be somewhere nearby. Also, I swear I could SMELL trout and there were several anglers waving fly rods trying to conjure some up. I briefly touched into the edges of Jellystone National Park, the rivery western part, not the more popular muddy bubbly part.
